Known by the locals as Mundagakkanni Amman Temple, it is dedicated to Goddess Renuka Parameswari who is also addressed as Mundagakkanni Amman. An ancient structure, some say that the temple was built around 1,300 years old. The architecture of the temple is marvellous with a three tiered rajagopuram. The main idol of the Goddess is kept open to the elements of nature because she is believed to be a healer and has the power to cure diseases caused by climatic changes. Many devotees visit the temple everyday in large numbers owing to the strong belief.
