Description
Located in Lake Gardens, Dhaka Kali Bari is a beautiful Kali temple. The most ferocious form of Goddess Durga, Kali is considered as ever-caring mother by the devotees. The temple houses a dark coloured idol of the goddess with four arms - one holding a sword, another lifting a head of a demon and other two hands offering blessings to the worshippers. On Tuesdays and Saturdays the days which are considered most auspicious for worshipping Goddess Kali, maximum number of devotees arrive at the temple. The most popular festival celebrated here is the Kali Puja (Diwali), during which the temple is beautifully decorated with diyas.
